Douglas Emigdio Mejia-Vicente Killed in San Rafael Hit-and-Run Accident

 
SAN RAFAEL, CA (August 13, 2021) — A man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Merrydale Road south of the intersection with North San Pedro Road.
 
The Marin County coroner has identified the victim as 42-year-old Douglas Emigdio Mejia-Vicente of San Rafael.
 
According to police, the fatal hit-and-run crash happened around 4:00 a.m. August 8. Under unclear conditions, a driver struck Mejia-Vicente and fled the scene.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and pronounced Mejia-Vicente dead at the scene.
 
At this time, the San Rafael Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team needs witnesses’ help.
