Three-Vehicle Accident on Bell Road in Auburn Kills 1 and Badly Injures Another

 
AUBURN, CA (July 31, 2021) – One person was killed in a three-vehicle accident on Bell Road in Auburn Friday afternoon.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:37 p.m. on July 30, just east of New Airport Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, white Nissan Rogue sideswiped a tan station wagon before colliding head-on into a black Honda Civic.
 
The driver of the Civic died upon impact, the CHP said. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Meanwhile, first responders took the driver of the Nissan to the hospital with major injuries. The CHP did not indicate the status of the driver of the station wagon.
 
Authorities have shut down Bell Road in both directions while they worked on the scene. They asked motorists to find alternate routes.
 
The exact cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
