27-Year-Old Gaige Whittle Dies in Car Crash in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (July 31, 2021) – Gaige Whittle died in a two-vehicle accident in Fresno County Wednesday two weeks ago, July 14.
 
The accident happened around 9:39 a.m. on De Wolf Avenue near Clovis. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 27-year-old man was driving a Nissan Sentra when he failed to stop at a stop sign. He then collided with a northbound Honda Accord.
 
The impact sent both vehicles into a nearby almond orchard.
 
Whittle was not wearing a seatbelt, according to officials. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
 
The condition of the other driver was not immediately available.
 
It is unknown at this time if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. An investigation of into this fatal crash is ongoing.
