Man Dies in East Bakersfield Pedestrian Crash on Niles Street

 
EAST BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 30, 2021) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Niles Street near West Drive Thursday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly incident happened around 8:51 p.m. Under circumstances that require more investigation, a pedestrian failed to use a crosswalk and was hit by an oncoming driver.
 
As a result of the crash, the adult male pedestrian died at the scene, confirmed by medical personnel. Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
