Debra Jackson Dead, Estevan Mora Detained in Fatal DUI Crash on Highway 99 near Mingo Road

 
GALT, CA (July 20, 2021) — Debra Jackson died in a DUI accident on Highway 99 near Mingo Road Sunday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car accident happened around 5:15 am. For DUI-related reasons, Estevan Mora made an unsafe turn and crashed his northbound Ford Mustang into the center barrier. As a result, the impact left metal and plastic debris strewn along the highway.
 
Subsequently, a 63-year-old woman in a Toyota Corolla and 65-year-old Debra Arnette Jackson drove upon the scene but struck unknown debris before both women pulled over.
 
After they spoke about the crash, Jackson tried returning to her vehicle when a 43-year-old man, who tried to navigate around the debris, struck her. As a result, Jackson, of Galt, died at the scene of the crash.
 
Following the investigation, authorities learned that Mora showed signs of impairment and arrested him shortly thereafter. Meanwhile, officers released the 43-year-old driver of the Camry after questioning.
 
At this time, authorities need witnesses’ help in piecing together this crash. Although, if anyone has more information, please contact the CHP.
