24-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by Freight Train in Corona

 
CORONA, CA (July 7, 2021) – Kelly Goldberg died in a train accident on Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks near the Joy Street crossing Monday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:55 p.m. on July 5. According to the Corona Police Department, the 24-year-old Corona woman tried to cross the railroad tracks when a freight train struck her.
 
The impact caused Goldberg fatal injuries and she died at the scene.
 
It was unclear whether she did not see the train approaching, or tried to make it across before it arrived.
 
BNSF officials shut down the rail line for several hours after the fatality, which remains under investigation.
