Wrong-Way Accident on 91 Freeway in Anaheim Kills 1, Seriously Injures 2

 
ANAHEIM, CA (July 7, 2021) – A woman died and two others sustained serious injuries in a wrong-way accident on 91 Freeway in Anaheim early Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 1:15 a.m. on July 6, at Harbor Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a 2000 Dodge pickup truck westbound in the eastbound lanes of the freeway when she collided with a 2015 Honda.
 
As a result, the wrong-way driver died at the scene. Authorities only identified her as a 22-year-old Anaheim resident.
 
The driver of the Honda, 23-year-old William Yousef Hattar, and his 18-year-old passenger, Kara Trisha Giacone of Tustin, suffered major injuries. Paramedics transported both to UC Irvine Medical Center in unknown conditions.
 
A 2019 Mercedes-Benz was also involved in the crash, but the occupants apparently escaped injury. Police arrested the passenger of the Mercedes, 39-year-old Fadal FadsslElijazzar, for charges unrelated to the crash, according to the CHP.
