Fatal Head-On Accident on Highway 89 in Truckee Involves Big Rig and Sedan

 
TRUCKEE, CA (May 26, 2021) – At least two people died in a head-on accident on Highway 89 in Truckee Tuesday afternoon, May 25.
 
The accident happened around 3:25 p.m. at Cabin Creek Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a big rig and a Ford sedan collided head-on for unknown reasons.
 
First responders found the sedan pinned underneath the big rig. Life-saving measures were performed but at least two peopled died at the scene.
 
It is unclear if the victims were in the same vehicle. Their identities were also not immediately available.
 
The exact cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
