DUI Crash on Highway 180 in Fresno County Leaves Woman Badly Injured, Leigha Addington Arrested

 
FRESNO, CA (April 21, 2021)Leigha Addington was arrested after a DUI crash in Fresno County Saturday afternoon, April 17.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:00 p.m. on Highway 180 near California and Cornelia avenues. The 28-year-old woman was driving under the influence in a GMC pickup going westbound on the highway. She failed to maintain her lane and entered the eastbound lane of Highway 180 directly into the path of a Honda CRV.
 
Due to the sudden movement of the GMC, the driver of the Honda was unable to react and avoid a collision. Both vehicles collided head-on causing major damage to both vehicles.
 
The driver of the Honda, a 66-year-old woman, suffered major injuries. Paramedics took her to Community Regional Medical Center.
 
Meanwhile, Addington sustained minor injuries. Police later arrested her for driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
At this time, the crash is under investigation.
