DUI Suspect Killed in Accident on Highway 101 in Millbrae
MILLBRAE, CA (April 18, 2021) – Police confirmed that a DUI suspect was struck and killed by a deputy in an accident on Highway 101 on April 13.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 10:00 PM.
Based on a report, CHP officers stopped a black Honda Civic on the highway. Subsequently, they did a DUI test on the driver. When they tried to arrest him, the man took off. He ran across southbound lanes and jumped over the median. While trying to cross northbound lanes, a San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputy hit him.
As a result, the man died in the incident. Officials did not yet release his identity pending kin notification.
Consequently, officers closed several northbound lanes of the highway to give way to a clearing operation.
At this point, an investigation into this accident on Highway 101 is still underway.
