One Injured After Police Chase Ends in Crash on Pacific Coast Highway in El Segundo

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 14, 2021) – A police chase involving a stolen truck led to a crash on Pacific Coast Highway on April 8.
 
The California Highway Patrol said it happened at Grand Avenue around 9:20 AM.
 
Based on a report, the Los Angeles school police officers saw a sport utility truck crash into several parked cars on Figueroa Street. Subsequently, they tried to stop the driver, but he did not stop. Then, a chase happened and lasted about 20 minutes when the driver crashed into trees at Pacific Coast.
 
As a result, at least one person was hurt in the incident. Medics reported the victim did not require hospitalization.
 
In the end, officers arrested the driver of the truck on suspicion of stealing the truck, evading and reckless driving. They determined the vehicle to be a city of Carson utility truck. In addition, they also said impairment was a possible factor in the case.
