SOUTHWEST BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 12, 2021) – A man sustained serious injuries in a car accident on Stockdale Highway, Saturday evening.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident happened shortly before 10:00 p.m. A southbound vehicle reportedly ran a red light. Then, it collided with an eastbound vehicle at the intersection of Stockdale Highway and Buena Vista Road near the Park at River Walk.
 
Emergency crews transported a passenger to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities did not release the name of the victim.
 
Bakersfield police ruled out alcohol, drugs, and speed as factors in the accident. Investigators ask witnesses to call (661) 327-7111.
