Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident at East Pacheco Boulevard and Mercey Springs Road [Los Banos, CA]

Fatal Pedestrian Accident on East Pacheco Boulevard in Los Banos Involves PG&E Pickup Truck

 
LOS BANOS, CA (April 6, 2021) – A woman died in a pedestrian accident at the intersection of East Pacheco Boulevard and Mercey Springs Road.
 
According to the Los Banos Police Department, the accident happened around 6:14 a.m. on Thursday, April 1. A female pedestrian was crossing the intersection in a southbound direction outside of the marked crosswalk. As she was crossing the intersection, a PG&E Ford pickup truck struck her.
 
The truck was traveling eastbound on a green light at an unknown speed in the number one lane of East Pacheco Boulevard, officers said.
 
Arriving officers located the woman unresponsive. They tried saving her, but she died at the scene. The victim was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the truck was cooperative with police and neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the collision.
 
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
