Police Arrest Lisa Hunt for Hit-and-Run that Killed 17-Year-Old Molly Burgess

 
SONORA, CA (March 28, 2021) – Authorities arrested Lisa Dianne Hunt Thursday night in connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash on February 28.
 
67-year-old Columbia resident Hunt struck 17-year-old Molly Burgess while she walked along Highway 49 near O’Hara Drive. She fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
Burges was left lying in a ditch suffering major injuries and died while emergency responders were treating her.
 
Police arrested Hunt about 6:35 p.m. at the satellite office on Cedar Road in Sonora that houses the detective division for the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, according to jail booking logs.
 
Hunt faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, felony hit-and-run, destroying or concealing evidence, and providing false information to an officer. She was released from custody about 2:46 a.m. Friday after bonding out. Her bail was set at $50,000 when she was booked.
