Coroner Identifies Motorcyclist Killed in Napa Crash on Highway 128

 
NAPA, CA (March 26, 2021) – The Napa County Coroner’s office identified the motorcyclist Monday who was killed in an accident Sunday evening on Highway 128 east of Wragg Canyon Road.
 
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m., March 21 when a Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 29-year-old Luis Daniel Romero of Rio Linda drifted over the solid double yellow lines. The motorcycle then sideswiped a pickup truck and an SUV.
 
The pickup truck was driven by 35-year-old Tru Knudsen, while The SUV was driven by 32-year-old Jacqueline Cochran. Both are Vacaville residents.
 
As a result of the collision, Romero suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
A passengers on the motorcycle, 31-year-old Martha Velasquez of Rio Linda, was injured. REACH helicopter transported her to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa for treatment.
 
Meanwhile, a ground ambulance took a 14-year-old passenger in the SUV to Kaiser hospital in Vacaville with minor injuries.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still trying to determine the exact cause of the crash and factors involved.
