Police Search for Driver in Santa Rosa Fatal Hit-and-Run on Sebastopol Road
SANTA ROSA, CA (March 26, 2021) – A woman died in a hit-and-run accident on Sebastopol Road in Santa Rosa Tuesday night.
Around 9:48 p.m., March 23 the Santa Rosa Police Department responded to a call of a collision that followed an argument and possibly a shooting near Roberts Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found the woman underneath a vehicle that had run over her and a tent on the east side of Roberts Avenue. Santa Rosa firefighters extricated the woman from under the vehicle and tried saving her, but she died at the scene.
Witnesses told police that while there was no shooting involved, two men had been involved in an argument. One of them got into his vehicle and drove south on Roberts Avenue, before crossing over the eastbound lanes and struck woman who was in front of a tent.
The other man involved in the argument sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics took him to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Authorities continue investigating the collision to determine if it was accidental or deliberate. They asked anyone with further information to contact SRPD through online Tip Line: www.srcity.org/CrimeTips.
