SAN DIEGO, CA (March 26, 2021) – A driver suffered serious injuries following a rollover accident near Genesee Avenue on March 21.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near the freeway at approximately 9:10 AM.
 
Based on a report, the victim’s Scion was attempting to take the Genesee Avenue exit at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it went up a steep embankment on the right shoulder instead. Subsequently, it went airborne before going through a fence and landing on its roof.
 
As a result, the driver and a passenger in the car were hurt. Firefighters had to extricate the male driver before transporting him to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with major injuries. They also rescued the female passenger and sent her to the hospital with moderate injuries.
 
The California Highway Patrol, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department and San Diego police responded to the scene. As of now, this rollover accident near Genesee Avenue is still under investigation.
