THERMAL, CA (February 19, 2021) — A rider died Sunday evening, January 24 in a motorcycle accident on Airport Boulevard near Shady Lane.
 
26-year-old Shane James was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m. in the 85-500 block of Airport Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s office.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6:00 p.m. at 85555 Airport Boulevard.
 
James was riding a dirt bike that collided with a forklift, according to Cal Fire.
 
The forklift operator was not injured, the California Highway Patrol reported.
 
The exact cause of the collision is under investigation.
