John Ku Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Del Puerto Canyon Road [Patterson, CA]

John Ku Dead after Motorcycle Crash on Del Puerto Canyon Road near Frank Raines Off-Highway Vehicle Park

 
PATTERSON, CA (January 20, 2021) — A 49-year-old man identified as John Ku of San Jose died in a motorcycle crash on Sunday, January 17.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at around 11:30 a.m. on Del Puerto Canyon Road. It is about a mile east of the Frank Raines Off-Highway Vehicle Park.
 
CHP officers responded and found Ku lying on the north shoulder of the roadway. They discovered him near his damaged 2007 Suzuki motorcycle and declared him dead at the scene.
 
The initial investigation determined that Ku rode east on Del Puerto Canyon Road. He reportedly lost control as he moved towards a right bend in the road.
 
The motorcycle went into the westbound lane. Then it went off the north shoulder of the road, where it hit a metal pole fence.
 
Authorities said that Ku wore his helmet at the time of the incident.
 
Officials continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
