Paramedic Hurt in Ambulance Crash on Highway 154 in Santa Barbara

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (April 22, 2024) — A paramedic was injured in an ambulance accident on Highway 154 near Painted Cave Road.
 
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the accident happened early Friday. Under unclear circumstances, a vehicle occupied by two females sideswiped an ambulance on its way from Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
 
Subsequently, emergency personnel arrived around 4:00 a.m. and took the paramedic to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for moderate injuries. Fortunately, the injured patient inside the ambulance was not hurt, neither were the two females in the other car.
 
Following the crash, authorities investigated the incident but had yet to provide information on the cause. If anyone has more to add, please call the California Highway Patrol.
