1 Juvenile Dies After Car Crashes Into Power Pole on Palomares Road in Castro Valley

 
CASTRO VALLEY, CA (May 1, 2024) — A child died after a car crashed into a power pole on Palomares Road near Palo Verdes Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car accident happened around 4:20 p.m. Monday. For unknown reasons, a driver of a Honda Accord lost control while traveling northbound on Palomares Road. Subsequently, the vehicle left the road and crashed into a power pole before overturning into a tree.
 
Minutes later, paramedics responded and confirmed the child, whose age was unclear, deceased at the scene. Paramedics took the driver to a hospital with major injuries.
