Bicyclist Arrested after Hit-and-Run on Broadway near City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 24, 2024) – A 65-year-old woman sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident involving a bicycle on Broadway near Columbus Avenue, Wednesday afternoon.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident happened on May 22, at about 3:15 p.m. A pedestrian attempted to cross inside a marked crosswalk when a bicyclist hit her outside of City Lights Booksellers & Publishers.
Emergency crews transported the pedestrian to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
As per reports, the bicyclist fled the area and failed to render aid. However, officers eventually located and arrested the unidentified 36-year-old bicyclist. Authorities did not release the name of the suspect.
