Female Pedestrian Dies in Mission Boulevard Crash in Hayward
HAYWARD, CA (November 18, 2024) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Mission Boulevard near Lewelling Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 9:44 p.m. Saturday. For unknown reasons, a 17-year-old boy driving a Dodge Caravan struck a 30-year-old female pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.
The woman suffered severe injuries and died in the crash. The teen driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators.
Authorities did not specify the leading cause of the accident nor did the Alameda County Coroner release the victim’s name pending notification of family members.
