30-Year-Old Woman Hit, Killed by Pickup Truck on Highway 99 in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (September 2, 2024) – A 30-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99, Thursday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 29, at about 11:40 a.m. The pedestrian reportedly walked on the roadway when a white pickup truck hit her near 9th Street.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck, identified as 53-year-old Ana Rodriquez of Winton, remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
As per reports, the pedestrian entered the dark area of the highway and was wearing dark clothing.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
