Fresno Car Accident at Clovis Avenue and Central Avenue; Driver Killed

 
FRESNO, CA (May 16, 2022) – A woman died and a man was badly injured in a fiery accident at Clovis Avenue and Central Avenue in Fresno on Saturday morning, May 14.
 
The accident happened just before 5:30 a.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 22-year-old woman was driving a Nissan Altima southbound on Clovis Avenue. For unknown reasons, her car collided head-on with a Toyota RAV 4, just south of Central.
 
The impact caused both cars to overturn. One of them then burst into flames.
 
The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
Paramedics rushed the driver of the Toyota, a 32-year-old man, to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
 
Investigators are looking into whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
