Pedestrian Dies after Struck by DUI Driver near Northgate Boulevard in North Sacramento

 
NORTH SACRAMENTO, CA (December 2, 2024) – A woman was killed in a DUI pedestrian crash near Northgate Boulevard and Turnstone Drive in North Sacramento on Friday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 8:00 p.m. on November 29. According to the Sacramento Police Department, 50-year-old Jose Guizar Diaz was driving a vehicle when he struck the female pedestrian.
 
Upon arrival of officers, they found the woman lying in the roadway.
 
The victim died at the scene. Her identity was not immediately available.
 
Police later arrested Diaz on suspicion of DUI.
