Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on North 33rd Street in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (August 28, 2024) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on North 33rd Street in East San Jose early Sunday morning on August 25.
According to the San Jose Police Department, an unknown vehicle struck the female pedestrian in the 400 block of North 33rd Street around 4:15 p.m. After striking the victim, the driver of the vehicle did stop to render aid.
First responders found the victim lying in the roadway, unresponsive and bleeding. They rushed her to a hospital, where the victim later succumbed to her injuries.
Hours after the crash, a person of interest surrendered at the police department.
