RIVERSIDE, CA (December 9, 2024) — A woman was injured in a pedestrian accident on University Avenue at Eucalyptus Avenue Thursday morning.
 
According to the Riverside Police Department, the pedestrian accident happened just before 8:00 a.m.
 
For an unknown reason, a 29-year-old Riverside man in a southbound Honda Civic turned left onto University Avenue from Eucalyptus Avenue but struck the 54-year-old female. According to authorities, the woman — a Corona resident — entered the crosswalk northbound on University when the accident occurred.
 
Minutes later, Riverside Fire Department paramedics arrived and took the female victim to Riverside Community Hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and was questioned by authorities.
