Motorcycle Fatally Strikes Woman on Sierra Vista Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (July 14, 2024) – A woman was fatally struck by a motorcycle on Sierra Vista Avenue in Fresno Friday evening on July 12.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. near Michigan Avenue. According to the Fresno Police Department, they received a call from a store at Sierra Vista and Shields Avenues in which a man told them he hit a person while riding his motorcycle.
 
Police arrived to find the caller in his 30’s with a fractured right arm. The man said he believed he had crashed into someone around Sierra Vista and Michigan Avenues before continuing on a quarter of a mile up the road to the store.
 
Law enforcement then went back to that area where they found the victim, believed to be approximately 40 years old, with significant injuries in the roadway.

Both the woman and the motorcycle rider were transported to the hospital, where the woman died.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
