Woman Dead, 9-Year-Old Child Injured in DUI 2-Car Accident on Floral Avenue near Willow Avenue [Fresno, CA]

Fatal DUI 2-Vehicle Crash on Floral Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (January 6, 2025) — A woman died, and a 9-year-old child was among those injured in a DUI 2-car accident on Floral Avenue at Willow Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle crash unfolded around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. For DUI reasons, a 24-year-old man operating an eastbound Toyota crossed over the center line while trying to turn left onto Willow Avenue. Subsequently, his Toyota collided head-on with an oncoming Nissan.
 
Moments later, CHP officers responded to the scene and found a 28-year-old right-front seat Toyota passenger with critical injuries. Paramedics took her to a hospital where she died shortly after. The fatal victim, whose name was not released, was not wearing her seat belt.
 
Also in the Toyota, a 9-year-old girl suffered major injuries and received hospital care. The Toyota driver, as well as the two Nissan occupants, suffered moderate injuries. During their investigation, officers arrested the Toyota driver on suspicion of DUI.
