1 Detained in 6-Car DUI Crash on Highway 99 in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA (November 19, 2024) — Police arrested a woman for DUI following Thursday’s 6-car accident on Highway 99 near Mack Road.
The California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash in South Sacramento. Upon dispatch around 3:36 p.m., officers found six cars involved. For possible DUI reasons, a woman driving one of the vehicles crashed, drawing several vehicles to the accident.
Following the incident, officers arrested the woman on suspicion of DUI.
At least one person suffered minor injuries.
Due to the crash, police closed three lanes at Mack Road but reopened them around 5:00 p.m.
