54-Year-Old Bicyclist Dies after Struck by SUV in Apple Valley
APPLE VALLEY, CA (June 5, 2024) – Victor Cunanan was killed in a bicycle accident in Apple Valley Monday evening on June 3.
The fatal accident happened around 9:10 p.m. on Thunderbird Road at Wichita Road. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Cunanan was riding his bicycle eastbound along Thunderbird Road when a black Ford Explorer struck him.
First responders rushed Cunanan to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition.
Despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, Cunanan was declared dead. He was 54-year-old Apple Valley resident.
Meanwhile, the 36-year-old driver of the SUV stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
