35-Year-Old Woman Dies after Crash with Big Rig in Lancaster

 
LANCASTER, CA (May 9, 2024) – Vanessa Vaughn died in a traffic accident in Lancaster early Wednesday morning on May 8.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:15 a.m. at Avenue H and 10th Street West. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Vaughn was driving a Ford Expedition north on 10th Street West when she failed stop at the red traffic light signal of Avenue H.
 
A big rig was traveling eastbound on Avenue H through the intersection when the Ford SUV collided into its passenger side.
 
As a result, Vaughn suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was 35 years old, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
 
Authorities said it was unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
