Hit-and-Run Crash on College Avenue Leaves Two Women Hospitalized with Serious Injuries

 
COLLEGE, CA (November 4, 2024) – Two women were seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on College Avenue early Saturday morning on November 2.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the women, ages 19 and 20, ran in front of a black or silver BMW vehicle while it was traveling southbound in the 5000 block of College Avenue around 12:30 a.m.
 
The driver of the BMW struck the two women and fled the scene.
 
Emergency responders rushed both women to a local hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The 20-year-old woman suffered a fractured left arm and a lacerated lung that required surgery. Her 19-year-old companion suffered a lacerated liver, also requiring surgery.
 
Alcohol is a suspected contributing factor in the crash, authorities said.
 
The Traffic Division is investigating the crash. They urged anyone with information to come forward by calling Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
