Hit-and-Run Crash Involving Jet Ski at Woodward Reservoir Sends Two Children to Hospital

 
OAKDALE, CA (August 19, 2024) – Two children were hospitalized in a hit-and-run crash involving a jet skin at Woodward Reservoir Saturday afternoon on August 17.
 
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. near the Bay View Boat Ramp. According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, the children, ages 7 and 9, were struck by the jet ski in unclear circumstances.
 
As a result, the seven-year-old sustained a fractured orbitals and leg abrasions. The condition of the nine-year-old was not immediately known.
 
Paramedics transported both juveniles to a hospital for immediate treatment.
 
Deputies arrested the responsible person on suspicion of felony hit and run.

Alcohol did not play a role in the crash, which is under investigation.
