Passenger Dies after Speeding Car Crashes into Tree on Sycamore Canyon Boulevard in Riverside
RIVERSIDE, CA (November 15, 2024) – Tionte Eddings was killed in a high-speed crash in Riverside Tuesday night on November 12.
The fatal crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on Sycamore Canyon Boulevard at Cottonwood Avenue. According to the Riverside Police Department, a 2017 Nissan 370Z was speeding southbound on Sycamore Canyon Boulevard when it lost control and struck a tree.
Both the 29-year-old driver from Moreno Valley and his passenger were trapped inside the car.
After extrication, both were taken to Riverside University Medical Center, where the passenger succumbed to his injuries.
Eddings was identified as the fatal victim. He was a 28-year-old Riverside resident.
The driver was in stable condition and held for further medical observations.
At this time, it is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
