78-Year-Old Man Dies after Crashing Golf Cart into Moving Car in Palm Desert
PALM DESERT, CA (January 7, 2025) – Timothy Lillard was killed in a golf cart accident in Palm Desert Saturday on December 29.
The fatal accident happened around noon on Avenida Del Sol, a street in the Monterey Country Club gated community. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Lillard was crossing Avenida Del Sol in the golf cart when he crashed into a moving car.
The cart then rolled onto its side, badly injuring Lillard.
First responders rushed Lillard to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
On Thursday, January 2, Lillard was declared dead. He was a 78-year-old Palm Desert resident.
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
