Teen Passenger and Bus Driver Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash on 64th Avenue in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (November 18, 2024) — A teen and a bus driver were injured in a hit-and-run accident at 64th Avenue and International Boulevard.
 
Officials with the AC Transit Company said the two-vehicle accident happened around 4:20 p.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a Chevrolet sedan left the scene after attempting a U-turn in front of the Tempo Line 1T bus. Despite the bus driver’s attempt to avoid the crash, the bus collided with the sedan anyway.
 
The Chevrolet, however, left the scene.
 
Of the 50 passengers on board the bus, a teenager fell to the ground during the accident and suffered minor injuries. Paramedics took the teenager to a hospital for care. The bus driver also reported pain and received hospital attention, as well.
 
At this time, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office needs anyone’s help looking for the car or driver involved in this hit-and-run crash.
