Steven Runyan Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash near 17th Street and Yucaipa Boulevard

 
YUCAIPA, CA (September 23, 2024) — Steven Runyan faces several charges following a deadly hit-and-run pedestrian accident near 17th Street and Yucaipa Boulevard.
 
According to the Yucaipa Police Department, the hit-and-run happened around 9:45 p.m. Thursday. Under unclear circumstances, 30-year-old Runyan struck a 62-year-old Yucaipa man near the intersection. Subsequently, Runyan, of Redlands, left in his black 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
 
However, following a thorough investigation, officers found, arrested and booked him into the Central Detention Center with a bail set at $30,000.
 
As for the victim, he passed away before officers found him on the road. Officials have not released his identity.
