RICHMOND, CA (October 31, 2023) — One person died in a pedestrian accident on the 580 Freeway near Bayview Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian crash happened around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday. Under unclear circumstances, a pedestrian running across the roadway was hit.
 
Shortly after, traffic investigators and paramedics responded to the scene, but the victim passed away.
