Fiery Head-On Crash on Highway 76 in Fallbrook Leaves Four People Dead

 
FALLBROOK, CA (May 12, 2024) – Peggy Moore and Hope Wood were among four people who died in a fiery head-on accident in Fallbrook late Friday evening on May 10.
 
The fatal accident happened shortly before 11:20 p.m. near Horse Ranch Creek Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound Chrysler 300 veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the front of a Jeep Gladiator.
 
The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire.
 
Wood, 48, was a passenger in the Gladiator. She died at the scene, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
Along with Wood, another passenger in the Jeep and the drivers of both cars also died at the scene.
 
Moore was also killed in the crash. It was unknown which vehicle she was in or she was one of the drivers or a passenger.

Another person was taken to Palomar Hospital in Escondido with major injuries.

Moore and Wood were East Bay leaders. They both created a political consulting firm in 2020 called Hope Action Change. The couple met while working on the Obama campaign in 2008.

An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
