Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Pickup Truck on West Chase Avenue in El Cajon

 
EL CAJON, CA (June 30, 2024) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck on West Chase Avenue in El Cajon late Thursday evening on June 27.
 
According to the El Cajon Police Department, a 2020 white Toyota Tacoma stuck the male pedestrian at 300 West Chase Avenue around 10:52 p.m.
 
First responders located the victim, believed to be in his 50s or 60s, lying in the roadway. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Alcohol and/or drugs were not suspected as factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
 
El Cajon police asked anyone with further information to call them at 619-579-3311.
