Hit-and-Run Driver Leaves Pedestrian with Major Injuries after Crash on West Westfield Avenue in Porterville
PORTERVILLE, CA (April 30, 2024) – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on West Westfield Avenue in Porterville Sunday evening on April 28.
According to the Porterville Police Department, a silver Honda struck the pedestrian in the 1000 block of West Westfield Avenue around 8:55 p.m. The victim was walking eastbound in the westbound travel lane of the roadway when the crash occurred.
After the crash, the driver of the Honda continued without stopping.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from major injuries. They rendered aid until medical personnel arrived.
The victim was then transported by air ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers located debris from the vehicle, which identified the color and make of the vehicle, however, the driver is still outstanding.
The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is still investigating the crash. They urged anyone with any information regarding this case to contact Sergeant Jay Starling at 559-782-7400.
