Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Lake Boulevard in Redding
REDDING, CA (December 2, 2024) – A pedestrian was killed in a DUI hit-and-run crash on Lake Boulevard in Redding Thursday afternoon on November 28.
The fatal crash happened around 1:54 p.m. on Lake Boulevard at Clay Street. According to the Redding Police Department, the pedestrian was walking along the shoulder of Lake Boulevard pushing a shopping cart when they were struck by a vehicle traveling westbound.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injures and died at the scene. They were not yet identified.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 44-year-old Jessica Remedios of Redding, did not stop after the crash.
Officers located and contacted Remedios at her home. They arrested and booked her into the Shasta County Jail on vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence and felony hit-and-run.
Further investigation is underway.
