Pedestrian Suffers Injuries after Hit by Car Racing on North Main Street in Salinas

 
SALINAS, CA (March 13, 2024) – A pedestrian was injured in a street race crash on North Main Street in Salinas Monday evening on March 11.
 
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. near Rossi Street. According to the Salinas Police Department, a Dodge Charger and an Infiniti were racing each other on North Main Street when they went on the sidewalk and hit the pedestrian.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities only described him as a 41-year-old man.
 
The Dodge Charger flipped on the sidewalk while the Infiniti took off.
 
Police arrested the 19-year-old male driver of the Charger. They booked him into Monterey County Jail for reckless driving.
 
An investigation is underway.
