Pedestrian Hospitalized in Hit-and-Run Crash on Yanonali Street near Calle Cesar Chavez
SANTA BARBARA, CA (August 5, 2024) — A pedestrian suffered moderate injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Yanonali Street near Calle Cesar Chavez.
According to the Santa Barbara Police, the hit-and-run happened around 4:00 a.m. Saturday. For DUI reasons, a driver struck a pedestrian, ran through a gas meter and struck a building causing a gas leak.
The suspect tried to flee but was captured and arrested for DUI and hit-and-run. As for the pedestrian, that individual was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
Right now, authorities are looking into this crash to identify other factors.
