OCEANSIDE, CA (December 18, 2024) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train near Mission Avenue and Cleveland Street.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to the fatal crash Sunday afternoon to learn that a train struck a pedestrian on the railroad tracks.
 
By 12:33 p.m., First Responders arrived but the pedestrian passed away. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office and Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet identified the cause of death or released the victim’s name. If any witnesses could help traffic investigators with this case, contact the Oceanside Police.
