Pedestrian Dies on Christmas Eve after Struck by Several Vehicles on 905 Freeway in Otay Mesa

 
OTAY MESA, CA (December 26, 2024) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by multiple vehicles on 905 Freeway in Otay Mesa Tuesday evening on December 24.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:25 p.m. just west of Picador Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was struck by several vehicles in the eastbound lanes of the freeway.
 
Responding officers found two vehicles pulled over at the crash scene.
 
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Their identity was not immediately available.
 
The CHP issued a SigAlert in the area, shutting down all eastbound freeway lanes during the investigation.
 
It was unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
