Pedestrian Struck Dead by Hit-and-Run Car on Central Avenue in South Los Angeles

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (July 22, 2024) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Central Avenue at 82nd Street.
 
The deadly hit-and-run happened in the Florence-Graham neighborhood of South Los Angeles around 12:30 a.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, a driver left the scene after hitting a woman walking on the road. The unidentified driver of the SUV drove away without identifying him or herself.
 
Minutes later, Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
 
At this time, the LAPD’s South Traffic is investigating the crash further to identify the cause and clues leading to the vehicle and driver.
