Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 101 in San Martin

 
SAN MARTIN, CA (August 14, 2023) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Highway 101 near San Martin Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened around 10:51 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a driver in an unknown vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing to the right-hand shoulder of the southbound lane of the freeway.
 
Minutes later, patrol officers arrived and began performing life-saving efforts on the victim. However, efforts fell short, and the pedestrian died in the accident.
 
Authorities do not have information on the driver or the vehicle involved in the crash. However, if anyone has additional insight, please call the CHP.
